Your password must be 8 to 14 characters, including at least one letter and one number. You may also use special characters (such as @, %, &, #). To help ensure the security of your password, you should:

  • Choose a password that is different than your ATM PIN.
  • Choose a password that is different than your username.
  • Select a password that is not easy for others to guess such as your phone number or Social Security number.
  • Change your password every six months for added security.
  • Memorize your password and never write it down or reveal it to anyone, including bank employees.
  • Do not let other people use your password. By giving your password to another person, you take full responsibility (until you notify us) for all transactions made by that person or anyone else they may give your password to.

SSL is a protocol that transmits your personal information over the Internet in an encrypted form. SSL ensures that the information is sent, unchanged, only to the server you intended to send it to. This technology ensures that your personal information is encrypted before it leaves your computer so no one can retrieve the data.

In addition, all online forms that require personal information (such as an account number or Social Security number) are protected with SSL technology, and thus are completely secure.

Auto Loans

1. In which states is vehicle financing available?

We offer financing in all 50 United States and the District of Columbia.

2. Is a down payment required for auto loans?

Auto loan down payments are evaluated case-by-case and may be required.

3. Does the bank charge application fees or any other loan fees?

No, SharePlus does not charge an application fee or any other fees to obtain a loan. Lien filing fees may apply.

4. How long is my pre-approval and rate good for?

Interest rates and pre-approvals are good for 30 days from the initial application date.

5. Can I refinance my existing auto loan through SharePlus?

Yes, we can refinance your auto loan with SharePlus or another financial institution. When completing the online application, choose the option for Refinance.

We will finance your vehicle that is financed through SharePlus if at least 12 monthly payments have been made. We will finance your vehicle that is financed with another financial institution at any time.

6. What is a “simple interest” loan?

Simple interest is calculated only on the principal amount, or on that portion of the principal amount that remains unpaid. The amount of your payment that is allocated to interest is based on your unpaid principal balance, the interest rate on your loan, and the number of days since your last payment. For example, if we receive a payment and it has been 28 days since your last payment was received, you will be charged 28 days of interest on the unpaid principal balance of your loan. The remainder of your payment is credited to the principal balance and reduces the unpaid principal balance on your loan.

7. What information do you need from me?

For all loan requests, we will require personal information such as your name, physical address, Social Security number, date of birth, employment and income information, and your US citizenship status. Documents that may be required for your loan include: purchase agreement/bill of sale, registration, title, lease buyout instructions, proof of income, federal tax returns, W-2’s, financial statements, current evidence of insurance, and a valid driver’s license.

8. Why should I finance with SharePlus if the dealer is offering 0% financing?

Special rate options can be very attractive when offered for particular vehicles at the dealership; however, sometimes the loan terms are restrictive and may not be what you desire. Dealers often offer a cash rebate as an alternative to 0% financing but choosing the cash rebate and financing with SharePlus may be a better offer.

By taking the cash rebate, applying it as a down payment towards the vehicle, and financing through SharePlus with our low rates, you’ll get the maximum savings.

Home Equity

1. What can I use my home equity for?

You can use the funds to pay for almost anything. The most common uses are home improvements, debt consolidation, and educational expenses.

2. Do I need an appraisal?

In certain circumstances, depending on the loan amount and the current tax value, we might require a full appraisal.

3. How much can I borrow?

For a Home Equity or Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC), you can borrow up to 80% Combined Loan to Value (CLTV). For Texas residents, the HELOC credit limit cannot exceed 50% of the property value.

For a Home Improvement Loan (TX residents only), you can borrow up to 85% Combined Loan to Value.

4. What index is used to determine the rate for HELOCs?

The index used is the Wall Street Journal Prime Rate. The index, plus or minus the stated margin, determines the current APR for your HELOC.

5. What happens at the end of the draw period on my HELOC?

At the end of the draw period, your loan is amortized into fixed principal and interest payments for the term specified in your HELOC Agreement. The APR will be based on the current APR at the end of your draw period. You will no longer be able to make advances on the HELOC once the draw period has ended. You can choose to refinance your HELOC if you have an existing balance and the new loan will be based on the current underwriting conditions at that time.

6. Is the interest on my loan tax deductible?

The interest paid on a loan secured by a primary residence may be tax deductible. Consult with your tax advisor to determine whether or not the interest is tax deductible.
